Test Principle (ISO 1182 / EN 1716 Context)
The Non-Combustibility Apparatus is designed to evaluate the non-combustibility performance of building and railway materials under a controlled furnace environment at 750 °C.

  • The test specimen (Ø 45 mm × 50 mm height) is inserted into a stabilized furnace at 750 °C.
  • The temperature of the furnace, specimen surface, and specimen center are continuously measured.
  • Flaming time, mass loss, and temperature rise are recorded to determine the non-combustibility performance.

This test is widely used for material classification in EN 13501-1, EN 45545-2, DIN 4102, IMO FTP Code, etc.

Apparatus Description

  1. Furnace & Heating System
    • High-temperature refractory tube furnace, rated for operation above 1000 °C.
    • Equipped with Kanthal® heating elements, ensuring stable heating performance.
    • Heating element is replaceable and easy to maintain.
    • Furnace designed with anti-corrosion Teflon-finished support frame.
  2. Thermocouples & Measurement
    • Complies with ISO 1182:2020 (option of two furnace thermocouples or one).
    • Equipped with Omega® thermocouples for accurate specimen and furnace temperature monitoring.
    • Spare thermocouples supplied for maintenance.
  3. Temperature Control System
    • CE-certified PID temperature controller with programmable logic.
    • Automatic furnace stabilization program and individual calibration program.
    • Rapid stabilization of furnace temperature at 750 °C.
  4. Sample Holder & Loading
    • Precision stainless steel specimen holder.
    • Quick-loading fixturing system for safe and efficient specimen insertion.
  5. Data Acquisition & Reporting
    • DAQ system records data at 1 Hz frequency (once per second).
    • Measurement resolutions: 0.1 °C (temperature) and 0.1 s (time).
